Galloway Country Fair

The 9th Galloway Country Fair was held over the weekend of 21st and 22nd August at Raehills near Moffat, organised by Jane and Sarge, there was so much to see and do over the two days including a falconry display, basset hounds, bar area, axe throwing, archery, a funfair, helicopter rides, a VT10 Aerobatic display, cookery demonstrations and trade, craft and food stands. The sun shone all weekend and there was a great vibe from everyone that was taking part.

Velocis were sponsoring the Threave Bowmen Archery Club (01556 610438 for details), so a big thank you to all them for making us feel so welcome.

Apart from being able to have a go at archery, which required a lot more skill than you think, there was also a pick an arrow game, you had to pull out a arrow from a board and if the arrow had a coloured tip then you won a prize, the main prize an IPOD donated by Velocis which was won on Sunday afternoon (last yellow arrow to be pulled out!).  There were also a range of smaller prices donated by Velocis and Threave Bowmen Archery Club.

Well done to everyone that had a go at archery, hopefully you enjoyed it as much as we did.
